He was predeceased by: his parents, Earle Welsford Macdonald and Olga Jean Macdonald; and his brother Earl'Tippy'Macdonald. He is survived by: his wife Brenda; his children, Lauren and Andrew (Erin); his grandsons, Malcolm and Carson; and his siblings, Ron (Annemarie), Bob (Diane), Frederick (Sylvanne), Teri, Cheryl (Geody) and Denise (Earl 'Tippy').

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society.
