He was predeceased by: his parents, John Andrew Downey and Patricia Josephine Downey. He is survived by: his wife Katherine Anne Osterlund; his children, Rachel Patricia Downey and Jackson James Downey; his siblings, John Downey (Pauline Reynolds) and Patricia Jones (Kevin Jones); and his nieces and nephews, Ashley Onesi (John Onesi), Sean Downey (Jessica Soria-Downey), Gavin Jones (Alicia Jones), Ian Downey (Dasha Downey) and Emmet Downey (Marissa Leon-John).
