He was predeceased by: his spouse Dorothy Lannigan; and his parent Martin Joseph Lanigan. He is survived by: his children, Pat (late Cindy), Jack, Bob (Theresa), Cathy Snider (Mike), Jerry (Jackie), Tommy (Derinda), Kenny (Jacqui), Patricia McGregor, Connie Heimonen (Norm), Mike, Marty (Andrea) and Will (Kayla); his siblings, June, Robert, Patricia, Sharon, Irene, Evelyn, Gerry, Jim, Shirley, Marjory, Marie, Dorothy Ann and Michael; and his parent Mary Margaret Carroll.

Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie would be appreciated by the family.
