“Joan was a dear friend and considered family to us. Her friendship with my mom was truly an amazing thing. Joan was there at my swearing in for my career and was always there to offer a hand and support. Even flying east to visit with mary when she was at the height of her own illness. My regret was not having a chance to say good-bye and thank her for her wonderful support and love for over 30 years. She will be deeply missed, and i send her family my condolences during this difficult time”
