He was predeceased by: his wife Leona Fitzgerald; his parents, Robert Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Fitzgerald; his sons, Bob and Jim Fitzgerald; his siblings, Donald Fitzgerald and Anne Fitzgerald; and his sisters-in-law, Barb Thompson and Muriel Steep.
He is survived by: his children, Don, Sandra Fitzgerald of Teeswater, Alfred Fitzgerald of Calgary, Sandy, Bev Fitzgerald of Blyth, Ken Fitzgerald, Tina of Paris, Paul and Cindy Steep of Wingham; his close friends, Jim and Sharon Yorke; and his brother-in-law Don Thompson. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Breast Cancer Society of Canada, Diabetes Canada or Pinecrest Manor Resident's Council would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
