He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald Earl Ruby and Barbara Ruth Ruby (Marshall). He is survived by: his son Lucas Ruby; his grandson Jaxon Ruby; his former wife Kathy Weicker; his siblings, Lynda Bond (Dan) and Darrell Ruby (Michele Klein); and his close friend Marty. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth.
