He was predeceased by : his parents, John Edward Barnes and Elsie Mary Barnes (Dean). He is survived by : his spouse Jessie Lorraine Barnes; his son Doug Barnes (Sharon) of Sunderland; and his grandchildren, Daniel (Virginia), Karlene (John), Michelle (Reg), Krista (Wes) and Ryan (Ange).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association and can be made through the Mundell Funeral Home (705-325-2231).
