He was predeceased by: his parents, Ricardo Mei and Agnes Mei; his stepson Eugène Bédard; and his sibling Gail Kingsley (late Marcel). He is survived by: his wife Réjeanne Bédard; his child Jody Mei of Sudbury; his stepson Richard Bédard (Sue) of Chelmsford; his stepgranddaughter Jessica Anderson of St. Catharines; and his siblings, Thomas Mei (Lorraine), Agnes Coleman (late Daniel), Helen Beggs (Barry), Patrick Mei, Richard Mei (Sue), Danny Mei (Noreen), David Mei (Lina), John Mei (Tim) and James Mei.
