He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Bertrand and Blanche; his daughter Louise Bellmore; and his siblings, Florian "Bert" (Rita), Leo (Kay), Alcide (Ruth), Thérèse (Preston) and Harvey (Norma).

He is survived by: his wife Simone of Val Caron; his children, Monique Weaver (Rick) and André Bertrand; his sister Rita Huneault (Gaëtan); his grandchildren, Shawn Bellmore (Auryanna), Stephanie Gilchrist (Darryl), Matt Weaver (Dave), Melanie Desrosiers (Ziyaad), Joey Desrosiers (Jessica) and Elisabeth Bertrand (Kevin); and his great grandchildren, Khalid, Aisha, Rayyan, Aiden, Zoey, Hunter, Heather, Breeanna, Chloe, Sahara, Scarlett and Shawn.
