He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil and Aune (Niemi); his wife Audrey (Antler); and his sons, Brian (Elaine) and Brent (Sharon).

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Craig (Laura) and Leah (Jordan); his great grandchildren, Natalie, Mason and Riley; and his extended family, Shane (Rachelle), Sam, Olivia, Brad, Tyler and Cole.
