He was predeceased by: his son Peter Speelman (Survived). He is survived by: his wife Antonia Speelman (Spoelstra); his children, Henriette Baelde (Martin), Charles Speelman (Karen), Marlene Allaer (Wilf), Annette Speelman, Wilpstra (Allan) and Mark Speelman (Julie); and his siblings, Maria Van Dyke (late Cor), Ronnie Van Kempen (late Adrian), Willemena Vandergeest (Jan), Joanne Mantel (late John), Ina Hoogstra (John), Lydia DeRuiter (late Walter), John Speelman (Corrie), Eric Speelman (Joanne) and Mary Gibbon (Doug). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
