He was predeceased by: his spouse Piroska Bodnar; and his brothers, Gabor, Janos, Peter and Viktor Bodnar.

He is survived by: his children, Gabe Bodnar and Violet Balestrini; his grandchildren, Andy, Kelly Bodnar, Megan and Christopher Balestrini; and his great grandchild Kylie Ferreira.
