He was predeceased by: his parents, Pieter VanBerkel and Johanna VanBerkel; and his siblings, Mike (Jane), Pieter, Elizabeth and Nelly.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Van Berkel; his children, Greg Van Berkel (Kristin), Geoff Van Berkel (Judy), Johanna Bos and Mark Van Berkel (Tracy); his grandchildren, Emily, Noah, Sam (Megan), Megan, Joshua (Kathryn), Daphna, Grace, Athulia, Donalson, Isaiah, Raina, Jeremiah, Ellie, June, Annie, Ayva, Alex, Julia, Nadia and Naomi; his siblings, Adriana Brown, Joanne Pollock (Jim), Arnolda Baker (Ralph), Patricia VanBerkel, Marjorie Desmet and Janice Frank (Derek); and his brothers-in-law, Vic Postma and Arnold Zietsma (Claudia). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Providence United Reformed Church (447 Second St, Strathroy, ON N7G3H8). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Word and Deed Ministries in Hans' memory.
