He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Veale; his parents, Howard Veale and Winifred Veale; and his stepmother Luella Veale. He is survived by: his daughter Deborah McKay (Doug); his grandchildren, Janice Cuthbert (Trevor), Stacey Sim, Callie of Ingersoll, Ethan Cuthbert of Ingersoll, Mackailyn of Ingersoll and Kyleigh Sim of Ingersoll; his sister Janet McDonald of Woodstock; and his close friend Betty Pearce of Strathroy.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Middlesex- Elgin VON, Strathroy Salvation Army, or a charity of one's choice.
