He was predeceased by: his sibling József Bodnár; and also, István Bodnár and Teréz Lintaller. He is survived by: his spouse Mária Éva Bodnár; his child Éva Margaret Bodnár; his nieces and nephews, Anne Matthews, Susan Michell, Judit Móré and Anna Timár; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Katie Matthews, Robert, Steven Jacot, Gergely and Péter Móré; and his siblings, Erzsébet (Elizabeth Kurpe), Anna (Anne Dako), István, Miklós and Bertalan.

Donations honoring his memory may be made to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation or Strathmere Lodge in Strathroy.
