He was predeceased by: his father Peter Smolders. He is survived by: his wife Sonia Freiter; his children, Sebastian and Katrina; his siblings, Frances Sikkema (Larry) and Hanneke Smolders; his niece Sadie; his nephew Cody; and his mother Bertie Smolders.
