He was predeceased by: his child Dana Pennell; his parents, Daniel Pennell and Margaret Pennell; and his siblings, Joe, Theresa, John Mike, Phonse, Anthony, Leo, Kathleen, Cyril, Reggie and Gerald.

He is survived by: his wife Marie Pennell; his children, Darrell Pennell, Dale Pennell (Anne) and Damian Pennell (Shaye); his siblings, Mary Kuck and Victor Pennell (Doris); and his siblings-in-law, Cyril Ryan, Catherine Pennell and Shirley Pennell.
