He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry and Tina; his great-nephew Lance; and his niece Lisa. He is survived by: his wife Lynne (Giffen); his son Brodij; his pet Tucker; his siblings, Lucy, Angeline (Arend), Sid (Dianna), Tracy (Dave), Albert and Fay (Paul); his parents-in-law, Gordon, Ila Giffen, Bonnie and Kim (Dave); and his close friends, John, Chris O'Sullivan, Dave and Leesa Round. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and relatives.

As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George may be made to St. Joseph's Hospice or Dunn with Cancer Research Foundation.
