He was predeceased by: his parents, Berthold Schaefer and Anna Schaefer; and his brother Helmut. He is survived by: his brother Walter; his wife Theresia Schaefer; his children, Michael (Hope), Paul (Christina) and Elisabeth Eastman (Dave); his grandchildren, Michelle, Paul (Alicia), Kathleen (Jordan) and Erica; and his great grandchildren, Adelaide, Leland, Knox, Violet, Blaire, Deacon and Sophia.
