He was predeceased by: his siblings, Joao Gualberto, Irene Da Conceicao, Jose Bettencourt, Roque Bettencourt, Manuel Bettencourt and Eduardo Bettencourt.

He is survived by: his wife Maria; and his children, Manuel Bettencourt (Christine) and Manuela Bettencourt (Tony). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
