He was predeceased by: his former wife Dimphena (Dina); and his siblings, Staf Aerts, Josephine Aerts-Vertruyen and Jose Wyns. He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Aerts (Liebrock-Smith). He is also survived by four brothers, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed toward Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital and the Strathroy United Church.
