He was predeceased by: his parents, Dirk and Martha Van Rooyen; his siblings, Martin (late Grace), Dick (Liz) and Wiegert (late Hielkje); and his brother-in-law Louis Vellenga (late Ann).
He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his children, Pauline (Mike), Lisa, David, Jim (Tammy) and Carolyn (Murray); his grandchildren, Chris of Justin, AJ, Mikayla, Victoria, Nicole, Robert, Samantha, Tristan, Aiden and Dylan; his great grandchildren, Aaliyah and Dakota; his siblings, Henk (Connie), Dina (late Simon), Alice (Bert), Martha (late Albert), William (Margaretha), Bert (Tinie) and Francis (Connie); and his siblings-in-law, Tetje Vellenga (late Bill), Bob, Tina Veenstra, Gerald, Wilma Samplonius and Eva Vellenga.
