He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Cooper and Ann Lesak; his brother Ernie Cooper (Audrey); his stepbrother Stan Powell; and his brother-in-law Ray Mitchuk.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Cooper; his children, John Cooper (Sue) and Cathie Klaassen (Jack); his grandchildren, Katie Kovacevic (Shane), Russell Cooper (Stephanie), Greg Purdy (Renee), Michael Klaassen (Lesley), Chris Klaassen (Jenelle) and Emily Klaassen (Luc); his great grandchildren, Levi, Ellie, Gracie, Emma, Grace and Cohen; his sister Hazel Mitchuk; and also, Doug Powell (Sharon) and Barry Powell. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
