He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry and Vera Smale (Joyce); his children-in-law, Dianne and Robert Morris; and his daughter Shirley Morris.
He is survived by: his children, Blake (Margaret), Gary (Sandra), Ken (Wendy), Karen McLagan (Jim), Lori Ward (Don), Ellen Haid (Al) and Marvin Hartwick (Orrie); and his son-in-law Jim Dickenson. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
