He was predeceased by: his parents, Evelyn Almas and Ross Almas; his son James; his former wife Karen; and his sister Jane Cameron.
He is survived by: the mother of his children Beth Helmer; his sisters, Ruth Simmons, Grace England and Elsie McAlpine; his caregivers, Karen and Amy of Care; and his close friend Dr. Thimm.
