He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gomes and Anna Gomes (Khan); his parents-in-law, Martin and Teresa; his siblings, Dominic Gomes, Agnes, Elizabeth and Teresa; and his brothers-in-law, Andrew, Joachim Kanta, Joachim Kangal and Marcel.
He is survived by: his wife Agnes Margaret Gomes; his children, Rex Gomes (Sophia Mahmood), Agnes Gomes-Koizumi (David Koizumi) and Treanne Gomes Roberts (Ben Roberts); his grandson Jude Roberts; his siblings, Peter Gomes (Louisa Maya) and Mary Gomes; and his sister-in-law Mary Sandhya Gomes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul or to St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church Restoration Fund through the funeral home.
