He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Nicoll and Bessie Nicoll; his wife Mary Lou; and his sisters, Mary Ellen Hagger and Pauline Hamilton.

He is survived by: his close friend Daisy; his children, Chris and Cassie Strawbridge (James); his grandchildren, Justin, Stacey (Adam), Chloe and Colton; and his great grandchildren, Lily, Tyson and Hazel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
