She was predeceased by: her parents, Edmund Mayne and Mary Mayne (Clark); her brother William Mayne; her brothers-in-law, Fred Schaller and Allen Buchanan; and her parents-in-law, Eva and Weldon Buchanan.

She is survived by: her husband Robert "Bob" Buchanan; her daughters, Beth Buchanan and Cathie Wheeldon (Simon); her granddaughter Etta Wheeldon; her sister Mary McDowell (Rod); and her sisters-in-law, Arlene Schaller and Louise McAsh (Gary). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
