He was predeceased by: his parents, John Vandewiel and Sophia van der Heiden; his former wife Joan Vandewiel (Nyssen); his wife Wanda Vandewiel (Carmichael); his in-laws, Bets (Mees) of Lint, Wim van den Kieboom, Gerard Vandewiel, Harry Vandewiel, Toon Vandewiel (Magda), John Vandewiel, Nel (Felix) of Koning, John Nyssen (Pat), Arnold Nyssen (Mary), William Nyssen, Bert Meyer, Matthew Nyssen and Tina Lawrance (Brian); and his great grandchild Gordie Merkel.
He is survived by: his children, Gary, Joe (Renna), Alanna (John Poel), Robert (Tammy) and Brian (Sheri); his grandchildren, Tonia (Brad), Melanie (Terry), Tony, Amanda (Jake), Josie, Caleb, Matthew, Michael, Jessica (Cody), Jacob, Adalynn, Emily, Ruby, Ryder, Lyra and Lennia; his sister Kitty van den Kieboom; and his sisters-in-law, Anneke Vandewiel, Ann Vandewiel, Veronica Vandewiel, Nelly Meyer and Fran Nyssen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
