He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Himes; and his parents, William Himes and Marjorie Himes. He is survived by: his children, Bonnie Otto of Tavistock, Bill Himes (Shannon) of New Hamburg and Joe Himes of Stratford; his siblings, Laura Rice, Robert Himes and Ross Himes; and his siblings-in-law, Wendy Scott, Valerie Sears (Brian), Michael Sears and Mike Utting. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and extended family.

As an expression of sympathy donations can be made to the Salvation Army Community Church.
