He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Abel Ritsma; his former wife Trientje; his children, Tammina Teloniatis, Bill Ritsma, Ralph Ritsma, Ruth Leyser and Freda Ritsma (Cadeau); his grandchildren, Durwin Cadeau and Katelyn Leyser; his wife Joan (Hodgins); his children, Anne Atkinson (William) of Ottawa, Martha Marriner (Joe) of Perth, Ont, Mary Tsonis of Waterloo, Durwin (Joan) of Gadshill, Martin (Kathryn) of Stratford and Ben (Jennifer) of St. Marys; his children-in-law, Ignatios Teloniatis (Toronto), Christine Ritsma (Embro), Ana Ritsma (Tavistock) and James Leyser of Tavistock; and also Donna Harmer of Mitchell. He was also cherished by 26 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
