He was predeceased by: his parents, LeRoy Holmes and Edwina Diffin Jenkins; his sons, Louis and William Holmes; his brother Alan Holmes; and his stepfather William Jenkins.
He is survived by: his wife Josephine Sciacca Holmes; his children, Donald L. Holmes of Alexander, ME, Donna Holmes of Waterbury, Theresa Broadwell (Russell Lanziero) of Old Saybrook and Carol Farber (Scott) of North Haven; and his sister Ruth McNutt of Robbinston, ME. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
