He was predeceased by: his wife Thelma Helene Cope (Sammons); and his siblings, Dorothy, Helen and Donald. He is survived by: his children, Kevin (Melody) and Shaunalea; his sisters-in-law, Betty and Loretta; his grandchildren, Cassandra (James), Jordan (Jacqueline) and Patrick; and his great grandchildren, Alexis, Mackenzie and Adelaide. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
