He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Serafina; his children, Carmelina Futino (Joseph) and Josephine Dojutrek (David); his grandchildren, Joseph (Jordan), Samantha (Gabriel), Gabriel and Isaiah; his siblings, Giuseppina Siragusa (late Giovanni) and Rosario Meli (late Vincenza); and his sister-in-law Zio. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
