She was predeceased by: her husband Antoni Malec; and her siblings, Stanislaw Gilas, Bronislawa Korczak and Lucjan Gilas. She is survived by: her children, Edwarda (Stanislaw Galus) and Jozef (Anna Malec); her grandchildren, Justyna, Michal, Mark and Daniel; and her sister Stefania Habza.
