It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gretta Mildred Leighton of Stayner, Ontario, who passed away on August 2, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her significant other James Keith Leighton; her children, Bruce Leighton (Sandra), Cynthia Robertson (Gordon) and Michael McCarty (Marie); her grandchildren, Julie Leighton, Tracey Moore (John), Sean Robertson (Kirstyn), James Robertson (Jaclyn), Caitlyn DeLeon (Ramiro), Graeme Robertson, Adam McCarty (Pauly), Ben McCarty (Alison), Angela Smith (late Brian) and Wayne Smith (Melissa); and her great grandchildren, Cody Leighton, Jackson Mountford, Austin, Amy Moore, Mikayla Phelps, Elliot, Max, Claire, Haydn Robertson, Charley DeLeon, Weslee McClelland, Emma and Poppy McCarty. She was also cherished by her extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gretta to Centennial United Church, the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County or the Creemore Union Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
