He was predeceased by: his parents, Mykola Waler and Iwanna Waler (Leibycz). He is survived by: his children, Markian (Lisa Roscoe), Laryssa (Taras Hetmanczuk) and Krystina (Blair McCreadie); his grandsons, Maksym and Nicholas Hetmanczuk; the mother of his children Christine (Mark Brickell); his extended family, Jessy, Frank Zita, Harvey, Alfie, McCreadies and Hetmanczuks; and his godchildren, Dr. Markian Kuzycz, Liijanna Shklar, Oleh Kulykivsky, Andrika Lawren, Christopher Belelieu, Natalka Haras, Danylo Mielnik, Markian Snihur and Stefa Korda. He is also survived by family in Montreal; cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the George Darte Funeral Home (585 Carlton St, St. Catharines, ON L2M 4Y1). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. George Ukrainian Orthodox Church (8 Augusta Ave, St. Catharines, ON L2M5R2). A burial will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM and at 1:00 PM.
