He was predeceased by: his son Steven Spek; and his brother Barend Spek. He is survived by: his spouse Idsche Spek; and his children, Andrew Spek (Erika) of Spring Bay and Judy Kaldeway of Peterborough. He is also survived by brothers and sisters in Holland and a brother.
Memorial donations to the Music for Life Institute Canada would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
