He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Alec, Isabell Root, Alfred (Nagam) and Lila Wesley; his parents, Crawford Root and Mabel Root; and his siblings, Elizabeth Ritchie-Moore, Dennis Root and Gregg Root.
He is survived by: his wife Charlene; his children, Sandy and Kirk Root (Melanie); his grandchildren, Braydyn, Marykka, Brock, Logan and Wyatt; and his siblings, Roger Wesley, Ronald Root (Janet), Marilyn Root, Theresa Root, David Root (Ellen) and Renita Nawash. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Home of Theresa Root (926 French Bay Rd, Sauble Beach, ON N0H2G0). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the James Mason Memorial Centre (47 French Bay Rd, Southampton, ON N0H2L0).
