He was predeceased by: his parents, Kathleen Uttley and Harry Weichel; and his wife Jean Keast. He is survived by: his child Keane (Zoë); his grandchildren, Wyatt, Dakota and Georgia; his child Alek (Brittany); his grandchildren, Charley, Ainsley, Harpur and Alison (Brandon); his great grandchildren, Levon, Remy and Brian Keast (Michelle O'Donovan); and also, Kona and Haydn.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honour to the Marine Heritage Society or to the Alzheimer's society of Grey Bruce.
