He is survived by: his significant other Maryanne; his children, Laura Veenstra (Gary), Valerie Vanderveen (Phil), Kevin Elzinga (Kyunghye) and Angela ElzingaCheng (Ben); his grandchildren, Michael (Sarah), Stephanie, Bethany, Danielle (Patrick), James, Elissa (Brad), Erin (Kenton), Shannon (Garrett), Timothy (May), Nathaniel (Anna), Jacob (Gwen), MeiLing and Isaiah; his siblings, John, Ann, Andree, Menno, Sylvia, VanderHout, Jim, Gerda Borgdorff (Henk) and Winson; and his siblings-in-law, Betty, Mennega, Arthur, Nelly Okkema, Harry, Vriend, Bruce, Willy, Vanderkooi, Bill, Grace VanStaalduinen, Dave and Joanne Tigchelaar.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Smithville Christian Reform Church (6522 Townline Rd, Smithville, ON L0R2A0). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
