He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas George Spittal and Margaret McFarlane Atkinson of Caistor Centre; and his brother Harry. He is survived by: his son James; his brothers, William of Dunnville and Harvey of West Kelowna; his nephews, Mark, Raymond and Matthew; and his niece Miranda.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Merritt Funeral Home (287 Station St, Smithville, ON L0R2A0). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Caistor Centre Free Methodist Church (8488 Regional Rd 65, Caistor Centre, ON L0R1E0).
