He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son Bruce Edmund Ecker; his wife Cheryl (Simmons); his children, Bernadette, Rick, Brandon and Michelle; his grandchildren, Dylan, Brendan, Cherylee, Aleda, Tyler, Callum, Spencer, Luca and River; his parents, Joyce Ecker and Gordon Ecker; his siblings, Reg, Karen Ecker, Shirley Grant, Lorraine Purnell, Sue and Ron Chapman; his siblings-in-law, Sharon, Paul Gillmore, Brenda, Lyle Brenzil, Lynda Simmons, Gary Boyko, Art and Gail Kool; his uncle Wayne Fralick; his close friends, John, Jenny Moskwa, Tim, Sandy Skene, Tony and Linda Mous; his godchildren, Jennifer, Scott and Matthew; his parents-in-law, Bill and Eileen Simmons; his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Kool, Steve Kinzel and Bill; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Michael Kinzel and Chris Boyle. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
