He was predeceased by: his spouse Cherryl Hayes; his parents, Lyall Hayes and Simone Hayes; and his siblings, Lyall, Danny and Gail.

He is survived by: his son Christopher Hayes (Christina); his grandchildren, Corey and Tegan; and his siblings, Brian (Helen), Linda (George), Lois and Ann. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family.
