He was predeceased by: his sons, Kelly and Jim White; and his nephew Tim Whitney. He is survived by: his children, Kimberley (Richard) and Steve Maxwell (Tu); his sisters, Arnette Dales (late Bill) and Charlene Whitney (Tom); his nephews, Malcolm, Bruce Dales, Ted (Brianne) and Dan Whitney (Sue); and his great-nieces, Hailey (Cal), Sydney (Steve) and Teegan.
