He was predeceased by: his wife Josephine Weichelt; his daughter Kathy; his parents, Otto Weichelt and Marie Weichelt; and his siblings, Achim Weichelt (Uschi) and Christa Weichelt.

He is survived by: his sons, Roger Weichelt and Gary Weichelt; and his niece Petra.
