She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Smit and Daphne Smit; and her brother Peter. She is survived by: her sister Sonja Brock (Mark); and her nieces and nephews, Jennifer Duke (Sean), Ryan Smit (Hana), Rebecca Unwin (Chris) and Kyle Brock (Kayla).
