She was predeceased by: her spouse Clair Gates; her parents, Charles Smith and Viola Smith; and her siblings, Madeline Waite, Jean Smith, Helen Mennill and Maxwell Smith.
She is survived by: her stepdaughter Joan Avram (Lee) of Belle River; and her siblings, Laurene Thompson of Windsor, Norman Smith (Sharon) of Mississauga, Bill Smith of Woodstock and Michael Smith (Lynn) of Arizona. She is also survived by nieces, nephews & extended family.
Those wishing to donate in memory of Joyce are asked to consider the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation or the Alzheimer's Society of Haldimand Norfolk.
