When a man lives his life with incomparable strength, true dedication to family, hard work and community service, he leaves a footprint on the path that we should all be walking. Through the darkest times he fought, and in the happiest times, he loved. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our hero George Jacob, surrounded by his family, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. George has been reunited with his true love Marg and best friend Kevin. George’s 24/7, 39 year commitment to the “at home” health care for his son Kevin will serve as his greatest legacy. George was well known as the owner of Gerodo Construction and as a lifetime member of the Simcoe Lions Club. All who knew him loved him. George is predeceased by his wife Marg (nee Wilson), son Kevin, parents Andrew and Mary Jakub, sister Mary Bahula, brothers John, Andy and Bill Jacob. George will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Kathie Chapman (Jim), Karen Botscheller (Joe) and son Ken Jacob.; his grandchildren Kara (Chris), Jenn (Chris), JP (Jason), Curtis (Chantelle), Drew (Dana), Josh, Bryce and his 8 great grandchildren. He will also be remembered by his many nieces and nephews, his close friend Pat Sims and large extended family and friends. In honour of George’s memory and love for his community, donations on his behalf can be made to The Who Did It Club of Simcoe or the Simcoe Lions Club.
