She was predeceased by: her husband Gordon; and her sisters, Arlene and Pat. She is survived by: her children, Glen (Maree), Larry (Mary Ellen) and Cheryl (Lee Cockton); her grandchildren, Angee (Jon), Travis (Dana), Lindsay, Ryan (Vanessa), Nicholas (Gillian) and Melissa (Kyle); her great grandchildren, Taylor, Ella, Ethan, Theia and Indie; and her brother Charles John.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sylvia's name to The Alzheimer's Society.
